Agent insists Spurs target Bergwijn 'no bandit'

The agent of Steven Bergwijn says the PSV Eindhoven attacker's move to Tottenham remains on.

The two clubs are currently locked in talks over a fee for the Holland international.

Agent Fulco van Kooperen told De Telegraaf: “I just do my job and, as it were, when it comes to offering a deal. As a club, you should take a positive view of that, I think.

“If clubs of the Spurs calibre don't stop by, you really have to start worrying. On the weekend everything went well in consultation with (PSV sports director) John de Jong and member of the board Peter Fossen.

"Steven is not a bandit," says Van Kooperen. “He has always worked for PSV and, despite the interest of other clubs, also signed up last summer. It was then agreed that he would certainly stay another year. However, it was said that if the sporting situation of PSV unexpectedly would not be good, there would be a good chance that we would be sitting at the table. That has now happened."
