The agent of CSKA Moscow striker Fedor Chalov has confirmed Crystal Palace remain keen.
Sandor Varga admits he's in regular contact with Palace boss Roy Hodgson, who failed with a £25m offer for the Russia international last year.
He told Rossiyskaya Gazeta: "Do you think Crystal Palace would pay £25m for a player to put him on a bench? Of course not. The transfer of Chalov would be a record in the history of the club. That says a lot.
"We periodically communicate with Roy.
"If a serious club is interested in you, then it's not only looking at statistics. Maybe the footballer scored less this season, but the team brings more benefits. An integrated approach is needed here. Especially if you are ready to pay a lot of money for a player, as is the case with Fedor."
