The agent of Alessandro Florenzi admits he turned down bigger money from Inter Milan to stay with Roma.

The midfielder was offloaded to Valencia on-loan.

Alessandro Lucci told Il Foglio: “Alessandro is one of the purest and more wholesome guys I've ever met, a real romantic," Lucci told Il Foglio.

“He made a decision of someone with Roma in their blood. Whether it was the right or wrong one, I don't know.

“What I know is that two years ago, when his contract with the Giallorossi was due to expire, a very significant five-year contract from Spalletti's Inter was waiting for him.

“At the age of 27, he gave up a lot of money just to stay at Roma. Having said that, icons are disappearing from football."
