Silvano Martina insists Manchester United never wanted to lose the veteran.
"When results don't come, you can't just blame one individual, yet everyone seems to assume Vidic is the sole man responsible.
"If Inter's season isn't going the way people hoped, the responsibility has to be shared around. This is shameful and makes me feel that it is somehow planned.
"Once and for all, I want to make it clear that Manchester United wanted him to stay and offered a new deal when we had already agreed terms with Inter last January.
"He came to Inter because he wanted to play in an important Italian club like this. At the same time, obviously he is not happy with the results and I find it absurd that he was blamed for a back-pass."
