Agent Mino Raiola defended PSG midfielder Marco Verratti after his red card in their Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.
Raiola also insisted that Verratti gave his all and was trying his hardest to help PSG win.
"Maybe [Verratti] went too far when he protested, but his reaction was the frustration of a player who wanted to do everything possible to help his team to qualify," the agent said.
"It was an instinctive reaction and perhaps one of pride.
"After all, Ronaldo protested in an impertinent way several times, yet he wasn't booked.
"He wasn't even booked when he tried to kick Dani Alves."
Verratti's red card left PSG with a mountain to climb and, despite pulling one goal back, they couldn't catch Real Madrid.
