The agent of Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey denies a summer offer arrived from Manchester City for the Frenchman.
The shot-stopper was expected to leave Florence this summer, to the point that the club signed Artur Boruc from Celtic as a replacement.
Instead, he opted to remain at the Stadio Artemio Franchi despite links with Bayern Munich and Manchester United.
"We did not receive any offers from Manchester City. That goes for me and Fiorentina director Pantaleo Corvino," said agent Giovanni Branchini.
"Unfortunately this is what the football world is like now. We have to navigate among false stories and denials.
"Everyone feels they have the right to talk about what's going on, even if they don't know the facts," he moaned to violanews.com.
