Agent cools Chelsea rumour surrounding Roma's Mexes

Roma defender Philippe Mexes will not be making a switch to Chelsea according to his agent Olivier Joanneaux.

Recent reports have suggested that Chelsea had made a play for the Frenchman but nothing has been heard by his camp.

"I have seen the rumours linking Philippe with Chelsea, but I have heard nothing," Joanneaux told skysports.com.

"No-one from Chelsea has called me and I believe no-one has called Roma."

However, Joanneaux said if the Blues did come forward with an offer, his client would definitely consider it.

"Chelsea almost signed Philippe in 2004, but he signed for Roma as he felt this would be best for him at the time," he added.

"He would consider a move to Chelsea if they did make an offer as they are a big team, but it all depends on Roma.

"He has two years left on his contract and Philippe is happy with his situation at Roma.

"But if Roma decide to sell him we will consider all options available."
