The intermediary who helped secure Joel Campbell's move to Frosinone is adamant the former Arsenal striker can recapture his best form in Italy.
Costa Rica international Campbell signed permanently for Frosinone last Friday just hours before the Serie A transfer window closed. The three-year contract the 26 year-old inked ended a seven-year association with the Gunners.
Marred by injury and inconsistent form, Campbell's career with Arsenal was dominated by loan spells away. The striker spent time at no less than six clubs after signing for the Gunners in 2011 from Costa Rican giants Saprissa.
Vasco Morelli, who with Umberto Riva acted as intermediaries in the deal, insists Campbell's best football is still ahead of him.
He told TMW: "Let's not forget that when he first arrived at Arsenal he played 30 Premier League games with the Gunners at a high level - and at 22.
"Then he started to be loaned, perhaps too much, but always with very first-rate teams. He has always played in good championships.
"This could be the turning point, yes: 26 years old, he joins at the best time from a physical point of view. He comes from a World Cup, where he also played as a leader, he has always trained: I am convinced that he will be useful to the Frosinone cause."
Morelli, whose management company enjoys strong ties with English football, admits flying his agent to Italy was key to the deal. Morelli concedes it was important Campbell's representative, Joaquim Batica, saw the Serie A minnows up close, visited the club's facilities and speak with staff in order to convince him about the move.
He continued: "Let's say it was easy to tell him about it, through his agent. It was important to have him come to Frosinone, to show him the club's plans for the coming years and what has been done so far, starting from the stadium. Many favorable things have converged towards the good definition of the negotiation."
Campbell missed Frosinone's Monday night Serie A opener at Atalanta, which they lost 4-0. However, coach Moreno Longo is expected to rush the striker into his line-up for their next game against Bologna on Sunday.
