Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira hopes to return to Serie A.

Torreira wants to return to Italy this summer, having joined the club from Sampdoria in 2018.

The Uruguayan has struggled to nail down a starting role in North London and spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, where he was equally a peripheral figure.

Torreira's agent Pablo Bentancur has told Tuttomercatoweb: "He wants to go back to Italy.

"Clubs have called me from France, Russia and Spain. But Lucas wants to embrace Serie A again to prove his worth. Arsenal have understood the situation and will come to meet us."
