English billionaire Jim Ratcliffe is set to buy Nice.

Nice Matin reports Ratcliffe, the billionaire heavily linked with a Chelsea takeover, is in advanced talks to sign French club Nice.

Ratcliffe has made significant progress in his attempts to buy the Ligue 1 side.

He has reportedly tabled a bid in excess of €100m (£88.77m) which their owners are expected to accept.

Ratcliffe attempted to buy the club back in February but saw a deal rejected after a last-minute change of heart with president Ganaye Gauthier insisting it was worth more than the £77m offered.

He already has Swiss club Lausanne Sport as part of his sports portfolio.
