Russia coach Dick Advocaat has rapped Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger over his management of Andrey Arshavin. Advocaat says the Gunners chief should let Arshavin orchestrate his attack instead of using him as a box-to-box player or an impact substitute.
Advocaat said: "One of Andrey's problems is that he plays 20 minutes. Wenger uses him as a player who can refresh the game in the second half.
"Andrey shows willingness to give the team the best of what he has. I worked with him for over two years at Zenit St Petersburg and I know him.
"If you expect 90 minutes of running from him, then that is not understanding Arshavin."
Arshavin's form has led to uncertainty over his Arsenal future - and his place in the Russia team.
But Advocaat insisted: "If we find anyone better than Arshavin, then they will play instead of him."
