Adrien Silva: Leicester teammates key to helping me through transfer limbo

Adrien Silva says he spent his time waiting to be registered with Leicester City learning English and establishing relationships with his teammates.

The former Sporting CP star finally was cleared to play for Leicester on Monday.

He told lcfc.co.uk: “Of course, I have to stay positive," he continued. “In our job, when you have a period like this, it's very up and down.

“You have to keep a positive mentality and that's what I've tried to do. I've kept my mind focused on my job and what I love to do."

Silva's English has noticeably advanced since he first arrived in Leicester. He believes his integration into the first team set up and daily interaction with his welcoming team-mates has aided him significantly.

"They've been great for me and they keep pushing to keep my mentality up," Silva said of his City colleagues. “They have been very important for me. I see a great future in front of us.

“It's my strength to have my family close to me also and when some periods are not very good like this one, it's very important.

“They keep your smile on your face. I have to thank them also for being there, not only in the good times but also in the bad ones."
