New Adelaide United defender Iain Fyfe is happy to be back in his home town and is looking forward to getting into a Reds top.
The former Sydney FC man enjoyed a good stint at his old club but is keen to start afresh in Adelaide.
"It feels great to be back, as this is where I was brought up," Fyfe said.
"I had a good stint in Sydney, I enjoyed my time and my football there, but ultimately when the opportunity came up to come back here I jumped at it.
"It was great to come back amongst family, friends, and also amongst Viddie (Aurelio Vidmar) and some of the other coaches that I used to play with, so it's a good environment for me."
Fyfe is also looking forward to getting back in front of Adelaide fans, who he says are as loyal and passionate as anywhere else as in Sydney.
"Adelaide fans have always been passionate about all sports but especially soccer. Everyone has got behind the club and even when I was watching from Sydney, it was great to see the passion of the fans and to see 15,000 coming through the gates at Hindmarsh Stadium," he added.
"I remember the days when the crowds were around two to three thousand, so to be able to play in front of 15,000 and see the whole state get behind one team is fantastic."
