Adelaide United goes clear on top of ACL group

Adelaide United have gone three points clear on top of Group E in the Asian Champions League courtesy of a 1-0 home win over Pohang Steelers on Wednesday night.

Bruce Djite's 90th minute header fired the Reds to victory in front of just over 7,500 fans at Hindmarsh Stadium, giving the A-League club a nice break at the top of their group.

Adelaide have now won three of their four group stage matches to sit a win ahead of Pohang and third-placed Bunyodkor, whilst Gamba Osaka sits on the bottom with just three points.

The Reds next take on Uzbek outfit Bunydokor at home on May 2 as Pohang get set to host Gamba with the top two positions till up for grabs.
