Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor believes the FA punishment handed down to him for celebrating his goal against Arsenal was 'excessive'. The FA handed out a suspended two-match ban to Adebayor and also fined the Togo ace £25,000 for the incident.
However, while he accepts his punishment, Adebayor believes the FA have been too harsh in their reaction to the matter.
"They have punished me for celebrating a goal and I accept it, but I think it is excessive," Adebayor told The People.
"But now I have to forget it and just think about scoring goals without any problems.
"If I play in the Emirates and score I will celebrate of course, but I will do it with my fans.
"I don't want to talk about Arsenal at the moment. I remind them that we beat them 4-2, that's all."
