Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini was delighted to give youngsters such as Patrick Roberts, Manu Garcia, and George Evans a first-team opportunity.

The inexperienced trio all featured in Tuesday night's Capital One Cup game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

All three players came on as substitutes in the second-half of the 4-1 win for City, impressing Pellegrini.

He said: "We won this cup two years ago and it is beautiful to play the final at Wembley. We will continue to try and play strong squads in this competition.
