Adams happy at Birmingham City amid Burnley, Southampton interest

Birmingham City striker Che Adams has revealed last minute plans to leave the club on transfer deadline day.

A number of Premier League clubs, including Burnley and Southampton, were reportedly interested in the 22-year-old.

However, nobody was willing to meet City's £15m valuation, and Adams says a move was never close.

"It was my girlfriend's birthday so we weren't really up to much," Adams said of how he spent deadline day in an interview with BBC WM Sport. "We just went out for some food and carried on our day as normal."

When asked if there was ever a point where he felt a move might be in the offing, Adams said: "Not really no, I spoke with the gaffer a couple of days before and we were all on the same page and I am happy at Birmingham and I think everyone knows that."
