Adams frustrated as Port Vale transfer plans shelved

Port Vale boss Micky Adams is frustrated with the League Two club's U-turn over how much funds he would get to bolster his squad in January. Adams claimed he was told to draw up a shortlist of potential signings by Peter Miller when he was Vale chairman.

But Miller's reign as chairman ended in the New Year and Adams now admits it is unlikely Vale Park will be seeing any new additions in the transfer window.

"I was told maybe three or four months ago there would be money available for me to strengthen the side," said Adams.

"I'm disappointed because Mr Miller told me on more than one occasion to put together a list of potential signings, which I've done.

"Unless the situation changes dramatically in the next 48 hours, we'll have to say goodbye to the loan players (Guy Madjo, Jennison Myrie-Williams and Liam Chilvers) as well."
