Adam Lallana hopes to bring fresh winning mentality to Brighton

Former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana hopes to bring a winning mentality to new club Brighton.

The Seagulls defeated Tottenham and drew with Chelsea at home and Leicester away, but lost their other nine fixtures against the top six in the Premier League this season.

Lallana said, “A lot of it is about having belief and confidence in your own ability. I have seen Brighton play and I have obviously followed them very closely post lockdown and they have had some fantastic results.

“They played well against Liverpool and on a different day they might have got a result. It might just be about tweaking the mentality of the players and believing that you can beat the top six teams.

“It's fine margins at this level as the lads will know. The boss hasn't been here long either so he is creating an infrastructure and an environment he wants the players to thrive in. I hope I can contribute to that."

He added: “There is some fantastic young talent here and the boss has given them a chance. It's a perfect club for young players to thrive and with the balance of the experienced and younger players I think you can get great success."
