AC Milan striker Nikola Kalinic has refused to accept a World Cup runners up medal from Croatia.

Kalinic was jettisoned from the squad in the group stages.

“Thanks for the medal, but I didn't play in Russia," he told Sportske Novosti.

The 30-year-old was sent home by Coach Zlatko Dalic for refusing to come on as a substitute during the Vatreni's World Cup opener against Nigeria.
