AC Milan striker Mbaye Niang has been arrested in France.

Niang, on-loan at Montpellier, is in custody after reportedly lying about a car accident and resisting arrest.

French police confirmed Niang was "summoned and detained" at a station after his Ferrari crashed into a tree near the Montpellier training ground.

Niang has scored three goals in four Ligue 1 games for Montpellier.
