AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud was delighted to score in France's World Cup win against Poland.
The 36-year-old opened the scoring in what turned out to be a 3-1 Round of 16 triumph at the World Cup in Qatar.
“When I received the ball, I didn't know if there was a defender behind me or not, so I had to turn and shoot," Giroud told RAI Sport.
“Today's goal is similar to the one in the derby against Inter. I didn't hit it that well, but my friend Wojciech Szczesny was unable to get to it."
The goal, Giroud's 52nd, makes him France's leading goalscorer.
