Tottenham have emerged as favourites to sign AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek this week.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan chiefs have fielded an approach from Spurs, but as yet no formal bid has been lodged.
However, there is a belief Spurs will make an offer for Piatek in the coming days in an effort to close a deal before Friday's transfer deadline.
Piatek's father Vladislav said last week: "He knows what he wants: to play as much as possible and to impress at the European Championship.
"It is already evident that Milan is not counting on him. Therefore, Krzysztof is thinking of moving to England. Of course, if no one can pays the amount required by Milan, he will continue to give his best for the Italian club.
"But I believe that 30 million euros is a small amount for an English club."
