AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni is adamant they're best supported Italian club around the world - ahead of Juventus.

Scaroni insists past success in Europe is proof of their popularity.

"Milan is by far the Italian club with the most fans around the world," he said. "The number of fans is proportionate to the Champions League victories a club has, it has nothing to do with the Scudetto.

"We haven't participated in it for a few years and so that's our aim. We have two mountains to climb, that of sporting results, which must come, and we must also prioritise merchandising and using social media to reach our 403 million fans worldwide.

"The fundamental ingredient is the stadium, and I've dedicated myself to that. Milan must have a new stadium in order to adapt to the times that we live in."
