AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni admits new contract talks with Franck Kessi are continuing.
Speaking with RadioRai, Scaroni says negotiations are continuing with the midfielder.
He said, "We all saw Kessie very busy yesterday (against Lazio), I hope he can stay at Milan for a long time. (Paolo) Maldini and (Ricky) Massara are there. They are working, I maintain a cautious optimism.
"It was a big game, we all had fun but talking about the Scudetto, however, seems premature to me. We are all thinking about the Liverpool match, it will be an important challenge."
Scaroni also insists coach Stefano Pioli was never in doubt last season.
He added: "He has never been in doubt, the project has always been long-term. We were saddened when we lost badly, but no one has ever questioned Pioli."
