AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has declared themselves Scudetto contenders.
The Rossonero currently sit top of the Serie A table.
“I've followed the developments of the team, step by step. We areon the right path," Scaroni told GR Parlamento on Monday.
“The journey is not over yet, we haven't included the Scudetto or a Champions League qualification in this season's budget so I don't pronounce these words. We didn't expect these targets but if we reach them I'll be happy.
“This is a fantastic moment. It's amazing to be table leaders but we need to keep our feet on the ground. The players and the coach are doing it, we are optimistic about the future.
“I didn't expect such performances, I knew we could do better than last season because or project needed time.
“Elliott have invested so much during these years, there are no short-term programs, I feel reassured that the Elliott fund will continue to be on our side.
“We have the youngest team in Europe, our secret is the strategy of [Ivan] Gazidis and [Paolo] Maldini. We need to build a team that would win and be economically sustainable."
