AC Milan veteran Olivier Giroud says they deserve to be in the Champions League quarterfinals after their stalemate at Tottenham.
The 0-0 draw on Wednesday night saw Milan progress 1-0 on aggregate.
Giroud said: "It's a great result. I told the players that we deserved to be in the Champions League and we wanted to do well in it.
"We made it to the last 16 and we deserved this result, even though we could have scored more. We showed quality, spirit, and we could have won tonight as well."
Teammmate Sandro Tonali also said: "It means a lot to me, and it means a lot to all of us. We are all aware about the path that took us here, with the difficulties, and how we reacted to them.
"It's a special emotion. We gave our all in this game, we really wanted to qualify."
