AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu admits he enjoyed playing for former coach Rino Gattuso.
Gattuso is now in charge of Napoli.
“Gattuso is sincere and ambitious, but not the kind of aggressive or angry person that people expect. What he has is passion," Calhanoglu told Turkish reporter Ertem Sener on Instagram Live.
“He is such a great motivator, he gave me support even in the most difficult moments and is one of the coaches I got along best with. We are still in regular contact.
“In training, he always asked us to give 100 per cent and concentrate only on what we had to do on the pitch, so if he saw we weren't fully focused, he'd kick us out.
“I loved that Gattuso considered all his players to be equal, he made no distinctions. He knows how to treat players and speak to them face to face. As for his motivational skills, some of the speeches he gave before matches gave me goosebumps."
