AC Milan are moving to rumble Manchester United's contract talks with Michael Carrick. The 33 year-old midfielder's current deal expires in June and he is now in negotiations over a new agreement.
However, Tuttosport says Milan GM Adriano Galliani hopes to tempt Carrick to Italy for a career swansong and is ready with a counter proposal.
Carrick would arrive as a replacement for Nigel de Jong, who is expected to leave Milan over the summer.
The Geordie is now free to negotiate pre-contract terms with any interested foreign clubs.
