AC Milan are planning to make a big name midfield signing - with Luka Modric, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic three players on the club's radar.
Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan are searching for bargains in the transfer market and are looking to players that may be deemed surplus to requirements in Spain.
Rakitic has been strongly linked with an exit from Barcelona for some time, while teammate Vidal is also interesting Inter Milan.
As is Real Madrid star Modric, who was close to joining Inter in August.
Stefano Pioli's Milan are slumped in 13th, with three wins from their opening nine games ahead of Thursday's meeting with struggling SPAL at the San Siro.
