There's a growing confidence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic re-signing for AC Milan in January.

The LA Galaxy striker is open to the prospect of a loan return to Europe over the New Year during the MLS offseason.

Gazzetta dello Sport says the Swede is in regular contact with Milan's top brass and a flurry of sms exchanges have occurred in the past week. Ibrahimovic's wife, Helena, is keen on returning to Milan, while his €4m salary is within range of the club's budget.

So much so that there's genuine optimism of Ibrahimovic re-signing for the Rossonero on a three-month deal.

The transfer already has the approval of coach Rino Gattuso.
