AC Milan want to take Cesc Fabregas off Chelsea's hands in January.
Off contract in June, Milan are open to paying a fee next month to sign the midfielder immediately.
However, Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan have told Cesc's camp the only chance of a deal to happen is for Chelsea to drop their asking price.
As such, the onus is now on Chelsea to show a willingness to negotiate, otherwise Milan will simply wait to take the midfielder for nothing in June.
The Rossonero can secure Cesc to a pre-contract ahead of an end of season move from January 1.
