AC Milan director Paolo Maldini says they expect Zlatan Ibrahimovic to return to action in January.

The Swede is working his way back from summer knee surgery.

Maldini said, "We renewed the contract with a precise idea, to have him with us for the camp in Dubai and we hope on the field in January: this is the goal."

Indeed, Ibrahimovic will be part of the Milan squad for the Dubai Super Cup to be held between December 11-20.

He will train with Milan, though isn't expected to be ready to play until the end of January.
