AC Milan director Zvonimir Boban admits the club is embarrassed after their 5-0 defeat to Atalanta.
Boban says it's clear the era of former owner Silvio Berlusconi will not be replicated anytime soon.
He said, “Losing like this always hurts, we would like to be competitive immediately, we know we can't be. It takes a little time, but we want to do it in as little as time as possible.
“Berlusconi's Milan cannot be recreated in six months or a year. This game is a bad blow for us, you have to wake up and react. It won't be a nice Christmas."
Milan last lost a match 5-0 in May 1998 to Roma, a team that Boban was part of.
“I was also there in 1998, but these things happen, it's sport. However we must not throw everything we have done in the last two months away.
“The performance wasn't there, and it hurts a lot. It was embarrassing, this cannot be the real Milan. We have to think and think well."
