AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli is happy with their position after the World Cup break up.

Milan trail leaders Napoli, but Pioli says they're well positioned.

“The team has certainly improved in terms of mentality and know how to recognise opportunities," said Pioli on Monday.

“We played with great intensity against a side that caused us a great deal of problems. Winning games like this means we believe, we have spirit and quality, because without those elements, you don't win these matches.

“It is an anomalous campaign, there are still 23 games to go and there's room for anything to happen. Napoli's incredible results have also been anomalous. We'll have to see how everyone emerges after the World Cup."
