AC Milan coach Pioli tells Man Utd: Dalot a winner - he always trains at 105%

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has sung the praises of on-loan Manchester United fullback Diogo Dalot.

After victory over Parma, Pioli was eager to highlight the attitude of Dalot, who came on after halftime, for his work in training and his match performance.

Pioli admits he spoke to Dalot before the game to explain why he was selecting Pierre Kalulu ahead of him for Saturday's clash and was delighted with the Portugal U21 international's response. Indeed, such was Dalot's reaction in training that Pioli admits he convinced him to give the fullback a chance as a substitute in the second-half.

Quoted by O Jogo, Pioli said, "I am very happy for Dalot, because two days ago he had realised that I would choose Kalulu for tactical situations in the game.

"But he is a winner, because he has always trained at 105 percent - instead of being a victim, and this is an excellent behaviour and an excellent example for everyone.

"He entered the game very well, with no doubts, due to how he prepared himself. I had no doubts."

Dalot is on a straight loan at AC Milan to the end of the season without a permanent option. So far this term, Dalot has played 26 times for the Rossonero, scoring twice and producing three assists. He has a contract with Manchester United to 2023.
