AC Milan coach Cristian Brocchi was relieved to beat ten-man Bologna on Saturday.
Carlos Bacca hit the winner in the 1-0 victory.
“Obviously I'd like us to do more, but the important thing this evening was to get the three points and it's what we got," the Coach told Mediaset Premium.
“We are trying to introduce different ideas and try to reach the Coppa Italia Final against Juventus in the best possible condition, but in the meantime we have a Serie A season to complete.
“When Bologna went down to 10 men, we created too much of a traffic jam down the middle. We struggled because the movement was slow and we couldn't find spaces.
“After the break we pushed Keisuke Honda and Luiz Adriano wider, which I think was the right move, as it created more balance."
