AC Milan chief Ivan Gazidis is due to meet with director Paolo Maldini about his future.

Former Milan captain and legend Maldini's future is in doubt after the sacking of fellow sports director Zvonimir Boban last month.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Gazidis and Maldini have kept in touch during the coronavirus suspension via video chat and the former will soon make a decision on what role the ex-defender will hold next season.

Maldini is prepared to stay, though won't tolerate a watering down of his powers.

He has impressed the board during the shutdown over the way he's kept in touch with the players.
