"Just as Filippo Inzaghi, I believe Gila will be a Milan striker for the next 10 years," said Galliani.
"Gila must understand that we have great faith in him, but no Milan player has ever demanded a spot in the starting line-up.
"He will be one of the four strikers in the squad next season and will have to compete with his teammates."
The former Parma man is a reported target for Juventus, as a possible David Trezeguet replacement, but Galliani is confident that Gilardino has learned his lesson.
"He is young, strong and will be granted space like all of his teammates," added the former Lega chief. "We would have never reached the Athens Final had we not had so many players here.
"It isn't always a dishonour to start from the bench, but I am sure Alberto will understand all this. It is normal that he wants to play - he wouldn't be a Milan player otherwise."
