AC Milan assistant coach Bonera: My time will come; we want Pioli back

AC Milan assistant coach Daniele Bonera is enjoying his time on the touchline.

Bonera is standing in for Stefano Pioli as he is forced to self-isolate due to Italian government demands.

Milan defeated Fiorentina on Sunday with Bonera calling the shots and he said: "I'm very happy, but this team has a great coach in charge, and we are all eager to see him again at Milanello.

"There will be time for me."

Bonera admits he was pleased with Milan defenders Davide Calabria and Simon Kjaer.

He added: "Davide has also grown in terms of personality, he strongly believes in his own means. On Kjaer we knew that his experience was useful for this team in a difficult moment like in January. He is a leader, a real man."
