Abramovich adviser De Visser: Neres wasn't ready for Chelsea

Chelsea transfers adviser Piet de Visser has again discussed why he chose against recommending the signing of David Neres.

De Visser identified the Ajax star when he was still playing in Brazil, but was happy for him to move to Amsterdam.

He explained to FOX Sports: “I discovered Neres together with Hans van der Zee at São Paulo. Then we said to each other: 'hey, that's a good one'.

"Hans pushed that through at Ajax.

"I didn't want to do that at Chelsea, because I didn't think he was good enough yet. Hans then pushed that through at Ajax and a season later they took him.

"He wouldn't play at Chelsea. I sometimes come up with something like that - a boy and then the boss says (Roman Abramovich): we have already loaned out thirty top talents. He wouldn't stay busy (as a Chelsea player)."
