Liverpool have recalled goalkeeper Danny Ward from loan club Aberdeen.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp made the decision after Simon Mignolet's current backup Adam Bogdan failed to impress in rare starting appearances against Watford and Exeter City in recent weeks.

Ward was originally expected to spend the entire season on loan at the Scottish outfit, but Klopp is reportedly concerned with the Merseyside club's goalkeeping stocks and is hopeful Ward can battle Mignolet for the starting role.

Ward has kept 12 clean sheets this season as Aberdeen continue to keep pace with reigning Scottish Champions Celtic.
