Aberdeen coach Derek McInnes has made his way into the shortlist for the vacant Sunderland position.
The Black Cats are currently on the lookout for a new manager after David Moyes quit his job on Monday.
The Sun claims that the Scotsman has entered the frame on the back of his impressive accomplishments with Aberdeen in last three seasons.
McInnes also comes with a strong recommendation from ex-Scotland boss Walter Smith, who is supposedly helping Sunderland chief executive Martin Bain in the search for the new manager.
