Abdi Sharif have won a new contract with Liverpool.

Sharif, 19, has been missing for the entirety of this season with a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury which he suffered during pre-season last summer, and so he has not played at all competitively since signing his first contract with the club.

Upon putting pen to paper on his new deal, Sharif told Liverpool's official website : "It meant the world to me, signing a new extension.

"I don't think you get the opportunity to play for an amazing football club like Liverpool too often, so I was excited to sign.

"The staff that's been around me throughout my injury, I can't thank them enough, there's so many to name."
