Benfica are hoping to agree a new contract with Victor Lindelof.
Portuguese publication O Jogo reports that the Swedish defender is on the verge of signing a new deal with Benfica which will include a buy-out clause of £50million.
Lindelof continues to be heavily linked with a winter move to Manchester United, with Portuguese website RTP even claiming that the deal is done and he will wear shirt number 2 at Old Trafford.
However, Benfica are eager for him to agree a new deal so they can boost their asking price to the tune of £12m from the £38m fee being reported.
The Lisbon giants know they have to pay Lindelof's first club Vasteras in Sweden a portion of the sell-on fee and are hoping to make as much as possible from the impending sale.
The report also suggests that the 22-year-old defender will earn around £3m per yer on a £58,000-a-week contract with United.
