Cadiz shocked Athletic Bilbao on Thursday night.

Cadiz pulled off a surprise 1-0 victory away at Athletic Club on Thursday night, despite going down to 10 men when the scores were still 0-0.

Carlos Akapo was given his marching orders in the 48th minute after receiving his second yellow card, but an Unai Lopez own goal nine minutes later was enough for Cadiz, who managed to withstand the pressure Athletic put on their goal.

With this victory, Cadiz have moved into the top half of the table on six points, having won two of their opening four league games, while Athletic are languishing down in 15th, having won once and lost twice.
