Yakubu: Everton go to Man Utd to win

Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni says they can beat Manchester United.

The Toffees go to Old Trafford today and Nigeria international Yakubu says they will play for a win.

"We go to Old Trafford wanting the win," he told evertonfc.com. "We really want to win and we don't want to just sit back and defend as they attack us, but we'll see how it goes.

"Hopefully though we'll get the three points we are looking for."

The 26-year-old frontman hopes Everton will take confidence from their 2-1 win over West Ham last time out, insisting that morale has remained high amongst the squad.

"I am looking forward to facing Manchester United." Yak continued.

"We know we have been struggling with numbers so the win against West Ham was good for us. We are back on track and the spirit is high."
