Wolves owner Morgan tells Liverpool fans: Purslow a good ’un

Wolves owner Steve Morgan has told Liverpool fans they can have faith in the work of new managing director Christian Purslow.

Morgan returns to Liverpool for the first time since leaving Anfield after the Tom Hicks and George Gillett takeover.

"You look at players like Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, who have given their entire playing careers to Liverpool and they, in particular, deserve better,” he told the Daily Express.

“They have class players like Torres and Mascherano. If they can only get it together they are more than capable of getting a Champions League spot and, hopefully, building from there.

“I said at the start of the season my wish was for Liverpool to win the league and for Wolves to finish mid-table. It will not happen now, but hopefully I’ll be half right.

“If I knew at the time of my bid what was later going to transpire with the uplift in television money from Sky, then perhaps I would have gone through with the deal.

“But when we did due diligence, it wasn’t what we were led to believe. The money I was trying to put in was going to go into the club, whereas what has subsequently happened is that the club is saddled with debt. Had my deal gone through, we would have been completely debt free.

“Christian Purslow [Liverpool’s new managing director] was actually helping me out at the time. He is a very capable businessman. If anyone can get them through the problems he can.”

exactly mobly. one of the few good things at liverpool now. purslow, a man who loves the club and will do whatever it takes to take us back where we belong. don't forget, this man was educated and graduated from harvard. that tells u everything.

With Purslow on side the club is in good hands. Hopefully the Yanks will be out sooner rather than later and then we can forget any type of American business model (look at the financial state of the scum) and move the club forward. Purslow has been the best signing the clubs made in recent times.
