West Ham snubbed Blackburn defender Chimbonda despite London trip

West Ham United turned down the chance to sign Blackburn Rovers fullback Pascal Chimbonda.

The Mirror says West Ham are signing Blackburn’s Danish right-back Lars Jacobsen.

Avram Grant agreed a nominal fee for Jacobsen, 30, after being priced out of a move for his Rovers team-mate Chimbonda, 31.

Chimbonda spent the afternoon in London but the Hammers refused to pay £500,000 for him.
