West Ham hope to close deal for Inter Milan striker Obinna

West Ham United hope to close a deal for Inter Milan striker Victor Obinna.

West Ham United hope to close a deal for Inter Milan striker Victor Obinna.

The Daily Star says Hammers boss Avram Grant hopes to replace Brescia bound Alessandro Diamanti by bringing in Inter Milan misfit Obinna on a season-long loan.

Nigeria forward Obinna, 23, was close to a loan move to Everton last summer but failed to get a work permit.

West Ham hope he will now be able to meet strict Home Office rules because he has become a regular for his country.

Obinna first caught the eye at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but he has failed to make an impact at Inter.
